Relaxation effects in HTc-Superconducting Thin Films
نویسنده
چکیده
Mechanical relaxation experiments have been widely applied to bulk high temperature (HT,) superconducting materials. In contrast to that only few results obtained on HT, superconducting thin films were reported. None dealt with stress driven phenomena due to the high background damping from the substrate materials used. In applied magnetic fields, however, a host reed technique can be used and the measured damping then gives information about the superconducting properties of the sample. We will discuss some experimental aspects and describe the basic information which was obtained on YBa2Cu307, and Bi2SrzCaC~208+x thin films. This includes the lower critical field, the Labusch parameter, pinning energies related to the model of thermally assisted flux flow (TAFF), and a matching effect of the flux line lattice (FLL) to the thickness of the films.

Nonconventional short-time dc magnetometer for superconducting films
A nonconventional technique for the measurement of magnetic relaxation in superconducting films at short times (;10 s) is described. Remanent magnetic relaxation in ~Y;Gd!Ba2Cu3O72d thin films is reported over five decades time at reduced temperatures above 0.8. © 1998 American Instit...
متن کاملFabrication and femtosecond photoresponse studies of MgB2 superconducting thin films
We present fabrication and optical time-resolved photoresponse characterization of MgB2 superconducting thin films. The films were prepared on crystalline and flexible plastic substrates by vacuum co-deposition of B and Mg precursors and high-temperature annealing in an Ar or vacuum atmosphere. The post-annealed films exhibited very smooth surfaces and amorphous structures with nanocrystal incl...
متن کاملQuasi-two-dimensional superconductivity in FeSe0.3Te0.7 thin films and electric-field modulation of superconducting transition
We report the structural and superconducting properties of FeSe0.3Te0.7 (FST) thin films with different thicknesses grown on ferroelectric Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)0.7Ti0.3O3 substrates. It was shown that the FST films undergo biaxial tensile strains which are fully relaxed for films with thicknesses above 200 nm. Electrical transport measurements reveal that the ultrathin films exhibit an insulating beha...
متن کاملEffects of Substrate Preparation on the Stress of Nb Thin Films
It is well known that intrinsic stress plays an important role in the superconducting material properties of niobium (Nb) thin films and in the resulting electrical characteristics of superconducting-insulating-superconducting (SIS) junctions made from these films. The role of sputtering pressure, gun operating parameters and substrate fixturing on Nb film stress has been investigated by a numb...
متن کاملContributions to photodoping in oxygen-deficient YBa2Cu3Ox films
We report our studies on the superconducting and normal-state properties of metallic YBa2Cu3Ox thin films (Tc,mid ≈ 52 K) exposed to long-term white-light illumination (photodoping). It was observed that the effects of photoexcitation strongly depended on the temperature at which the photodoping was performed. At low temperatures, both the Hall mobility and the Hall number were photoenhanced, w...
